3D at LSC Programs

Afternoon Clay Class for Children
Sept. thru May
Tues. 1  to 2:30pm
For ages 6-10, learn hand modeling, vocabulary and stages of producing ceramic creations, including basic glaze instruction.  There will be demonstrations during each session. Projects will be assigned, as well as self-directed work to foster creativity, along with learning functional skills. Home-schooled groups are invited to take advantage of this class schedule.
Cost $75 for 6 scheduled sessions, Materials $15 Class size 8-10

Afterschool Clay Class for Children
Sept. 18-Dec. 18, Two 6-week sessions (no class 11/20)

Tues. 3:30 -5pm
Join this group for artistic exploration with clay.  Hand-building and basic wheel-throwing techniques will be taught.  Ideas will be generated for both structured time and free clay play.  Wheel time will be shared.  Skills and vocabulary for clay work will be encouraged for all emerging artists.  Ages 8-14
Cost $75 per six-week session, Materials $10 Class size 8-10

Tuesday Adult Clay
Sept.thru May

Learn many aspects of working with stoneware clay. Each session will consider a different theme, to allow participants to focus on specific forms and skill development.  Hand-building, wheel-throwing and glazing techniques will be offered.  Self directed projects are encouraged, in addition to session theme forms.

Session 1: 9/18-10/23 Tiles: Gameboards, tabletops and more!
Session 2: 11/6-12/18 (11/20 no class) Forms w/handles

Materials list: One 25 lb bag of clay, tools, and other equipment are provided. Sketchbook encouraged. More clay is available from the instructor for $10 per 25 lbs.
Cost: $145 Materials fee: $25

Wednesday Adult Evening Clay

Wed. 6-8:30pm

Wheel-throwing skills are the focus of this class.  From the novice up, make pottery for decorative or functional use.

Materials list: One 25 lb bag of clay, tools, and other equipment are provided. Sketchbook encouraged. More clay is available from the instructor for $10 per 25 lbs.
Cost: $145 for six consecutive sessions
Materials fee: $25

Pottery Open Studio
Sept.18 thru May
Thurs. 6-8:30pm (not held 11/22)

Work with clay, in hand building or wheel throwing techniques on Thursday evenings from
6-8:30. $10 (plus material fees as used) for people with previous experience working with clay..
This casual setting is ideal for artists and craftspersons wishing to work independently in the company of others.

The studio is equipped with 4 Electric Wheels, 1 kick wheel, Slab Roller, Tools, Kilns, Glazes and Bisques.

For anyone currently enrolled in 3D@LSC, Pottery Open Studio provides extra hours for $5 per session plus materials/kiln fees.  

December Holiday Clay and Crafts Exhibition will be on view in our Gallery December 7-21, students will have an opportunity to show and/or sell the work they’ve produced along with the Faculty and Studio Members of 3D@LSC.

Memberships to the Clay Studio are available for $300 per year, FMI call our office 9-1 Mon-Fri.
